What we’re up to

Kalshi is the first and only federally regulated exchange where people can trade on any event. Think like the NYSE, but instead of trading stocks, you trade on the events you know and care about. Kalshi has more than 500 markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.

After three years of regulatory struggle, Kalshi’s historic regulatory approval from the CFTC has allowed it to launch a new asset class: event contracts. Event contracts, the fastest-growing asset class today, are elegant financial instruments structured as simple yes/no questions about the future.

Kalshi’s vision is to build the next-generation financial ecosystem for trading what we believe will be the largest asset class of all. We are looking for passionate and outlier members excited to embark on this voyage toward building the financial system’s next inflection point.

Role Roadmap

Kalshi Trading is the market-making arm of Kalshi. It aims to provide liquidity to all the markets in the Kalshi Exchange, as well as price them efficiently. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, building and maintaining autonomous systems that execute and support our market-making strategies on the Kalshi Exchange. We are looking for someone with 3-7 years of experience building distributed and performance engineering systems as well as a strong understanding of theoretical trading system design. Your initial attack threads include:

  • Building autonomous systems that will dynamically allocate liquidity on the Kalshi Exchange, based on the outputs from the forecasting models and algorithms.
  • Working on performance and ensuring the systems are operating reliably and with low latency.
  • Retrieving, organizing, storing and exposing data from the Kalshi Exchange as well as from a variety of external data sources.
  • Working with the research team to implement the forecasting models and algorithms they develop in scalable and efficient ways.
  • Maintaining an organized record of all of the trades executed by the market maker.

The rest of what the role looks like is up to you – a big part of our approach is that you get to chart your path as we grow and evolve. You will have a lot of influence in shaping both your role and the activity of Kalshi Trading as we grow.

Our Culture

We are a group of people who work hard and get stuff done. Meritocracy is at our core, and we value people who take ownership and figure (usually hard) things out. We dream big and climb the steeper mountain. We love our craft deeply and are proud of what we put out in the world. We are committed to our vision of an improved financial ecosystem and our mission of bringing more truth to the world through the power of markets.

Kalshians are, by far, Kalshi’s largest asset: we pick our teammates carefully, but once we pick our teammates, we trust them deeply.

The College has six departments: Biomedical Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Civil, Materials, and Environmental Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical and Computer Engineering; and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Driven by the combination of accessibility and excellence, student enrollment at the College has skyrocketed: with over 57% enrollment growth over the last decade, the College now has over 6,200 students, approximately half of which are CS students.

At Evergrow, we seek to build and sustain a carbon-neutral world. We’re fulfilling this mission by making financing accessible for those creating low-carbon infrastructure and technology (e.g., solar, renewable natural gas, energy storage). And there’s a strong why now. The climate bill passed by Congress in 2022 is a game-changer for renewable energy project developers and owners, and we are building solutions to provide everything they need to claim vital financial benefits. Our transparency and speed materially lowers transaction costs and helps more projects get built and accelerate decarbonization.

You should apply if:

You aspire to work alongside the best: We’ve brought together an immensely talented, thoughtful, and mission-driven team-we care deeply about our work, are highly collaborative, and are eager to welcome other like-minded people to join us in our mission.

You’re energized about solving complex problems: We are at a new frontier with climate change-the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act signals a profound shift in climate policy, with financial incentive (and benefits) at its core. This brings a vast network of legislation, processes, businesses and people into the fray, simultaneously creating incredible opportunities as well as challenges. If you’re prepared to tackle these challenges, energized to get into the weeds of renewable energy tax credits, and work to build long-lasting, novel solutions, we believe you’ll be an excellent match.

Your role:

As the second hire on Evergrow’s design team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our software products and solving for the needs of our customers in this complex space. Reporting to our Director of Product & Design, you will work with the Evergrow team to understand, define and empathize with the needs of people who buy and sell clean energy tax credits, including: solar power project developers, asset owners and capital providers. You will be working on end-to-end designs for a B2B product suite which enables and accelerates clean energy infrastructure development.

You bring a track record of shipping high quality designs, preferably within finance, climate or other complex software systems. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are passionate about designing mission-driven products and services, this role is for you. You will be responsible for:

  • Owning design work from product concept to wireframes to final detailed design
