    We are looking for a Network Engineer to assume an Operations Manager role, serving as the primary escalation point for managed desktop issues at our client’s US office. The ideal candidate should have experience in a support role, emphasizing the maintenance of high system availability, performance, and upkeep across IT infrastructure and managed desktops.

    A Wealth Management Firm known for its extensive range of financial products and services, including asset management, risk management, and advisory services.

    Description

    • Ensure the technology stack operates optimally, with a focus on resilience and reliability, while maintaining and sequencing patches and updates to maximize functionality and minimize downtime.
    • Proactively manage incidents and problems by identifying root causes and recommending permanent solutions, and provide Level 2 or SME support, including user training and pre-emptive issue resolution.
    • Coordinate with external managed service, software, and hardware providers, and provide input on service levels and contracts.
    • Support change activities by providing test environments, handling deployments, and overseeing the transition of project work into production, along with subsequent monitoring.
    • Collaborate with internal IT support teams, offshore teams, and vendor partners to achieve the best outcomes for end users, and engage with vendors for incident management and change tracking.
    • Execute and enhance the client’s IT & Vendor Change Approval Board (CAB) process, including reviewing and implementing IT changes presented at weekly CAB meetings.

    THIS ROLE IS ONSITE, REQUIRING 3-DAYS IN-OFFICE PER WEEK IN NYC, NY!

    Profile

    • Experience and Background: A minimum of 5 years in IT, including over 3 years in engineering roles, ideally in a support capacity focused on system availability, maintenance, and performance for IT infrastructure and managed desktops.
    • IT Environment Management: Experience managing complex IT environments for medium to large-sized businesses with 500+ staff, demonstrating strong problem management skills.
    • Educational Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in IT or related fields, with preferred certifications including Microsoft (e.g., MCSE), Cisco (ideally CCNA), VMware, Citrix, CompTIA, and ITIL.
    • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of key IT systems and technologies, including Microsoft Server , Microsoft Exchange 2019/Online, SQL Server , Citrix Netscaler/XenApp, Cisco/Palo Alto networking, Active Directory, VMWare ESX 7.0, ServiceNow, VPN solutions, Office 365, Windows Desktop SOE management, and global software distribution via SCCM.
    • Hardware and Software Support: Experience in hardware and driver support for workstations and peripheral devices, Group Policy management for desktop and end-user policies, and managing software distribution across a global fleet.
    • Advantageous Exposure: Exposure to security measures (firewalls, web, email, endpoint protection), storage and backup solutions, Microsoft Teams, Mobile Device Management (e.g., InTune), and integration of private cloud services.
    • Additional Skills: Familiarity with infrastructure design, Bloomberg, IRESS, FactSet, and mobile device management would be beneficial.
